Madison Davenport – Oh Shit!
Madison Davenport has been an actress starring in American TV-shows such as ‘Shameless’, ‘Black Mirror’, ‘Reprisal’, ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’ and ‘Sharp Objects’. Last month, she started a side career as a singer. Her first single was called Monsters.
As artists do nowadays, her sophomore single was released hot on the heels of her debut. “Oh Shit! is my second release of many to come”, she promises. Explaining the song’s title, she says: “You know that feeling when you realize ‘oh shit… I really like you’. This song was that moment for me. I tried to have a friends with benefits situation, but dang it, I caught feelings. (…) I wanted that high school crush feeling that I was having to be captured, because I know so many people can relate to it.”
Davenport cites Stevie Nicks, Lana Del Rey, Nancy Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and Cat Power as her inspirations, but those are not the first names that spring to mind when listening to this new single. Oh Shit! is an upbeat love song that wasn’t supposed to be one. Extremely poppy, but with plenty guitars to give it more punch.
Oh Shit! by Madison Davenport is the new Carte Blanche Music Wildcard. That means it’ll feature prominently at the top of the blog for a whole week.
