Wildcard (week 13):
Jea Mira – Deja Vu
Jea Mira’s debut album girl’s notes surpassed 5 million streams. It also won her the Discovery of the Year 2024 award at Bestsellery Empiku, one of Poland’s most prestigious music awards. Fresh off this success the rising pop star returns with her first single of the year, Deja Vu. A fresh song that combines indie pop with catchy melodies, it’s a track that is reminiscent of spring; light and incredibly addictive.
Jea Mira (born in Poland as Joanna Mira Dołba) has spent the better part of the last two decades honing her sound, creating a melodic and lively version of pop music. Currently based in London, she crafts music with charm and character, weaving sleek pop melodies with unmistakable emotive depth.
Jea Mira has recently joined the 2024 class of Spotify RADAR Poland, an initiative that amplifies rising artists as they develop and expand their global reach. But ultimately, it all comes down to making great tunes. This promising artist has plenty of them, and Deja Vu is only the latest example.
Jeja Vu by Jea Mira is the new Carte Blanche Music Wildcard. It will be prominently displayed at the top of the blog for an entire week.

Wildcard (week 12):
Naytiive – Push On That Pedal
If you like your music funky and vibey, Naytiive is your man. A London-based artist with a rich musical history, he merges soulful vocals with modern production. His sound will resonate with fans of alt-pop and indie genres.
Naytiive is influenced by artists such as Prince, Bruno Mars, Anderson .Paak, James Brown, Michael Jackson and Jamiroquai. He infuses his sound with grooving rhythms, capped with impassioned vocal work carrying infectiously catchy melodic leads.
His new single Push On That Pedal mixes the best ’80s and ’90s vibes into a radio-friendly cocktail. But apart from the airwaves, it’s made to be ‘consumed’ live as well. Push On That Pedal is bound to bring the party to the stage.
Naytiive came to the music scene in 2020 with his debut single Flawless. Since then, he released one track per year in 2020, 2021 and 2022, two singles in 2023 and three songs in 2024. A progressive scheme that promises good things for 2025. An EP is in the works!

Wildcard (week 11):
Mother Mother – Make Believe
‘2025 marks our 20-year anniversary as a band, and instead of waxing nostalgia, we’ve decided to celebrate by creating new music instead of flogging the past’. That was Mother Mother talking via their social media. And boy, did I like this news!
Mother Mother are Ryan Guldemond (vocals, guitar), Molly Guldemond (vocals, keys), Jasmin Parkin (vocals, keys), Ali Siadat (drums) and Mike Young (bass). They’re best known for their deep connection with their fans, and for bringing stadium-sized energy to their live show, no matter the stage. Singing about themes of alienation and enormous longing for self and societal acceptance, the band’s mission is to be a home for souls that feel they don’t fit in anywhere else.
The Canadian alt-rock quintet just premiered their new single Make Believe. A playful pop-rock song full of energy, pitched voices and with an ultra-catchy chorus. “I indulged a bit in my own life-philosophy on this track”, frontman and lyricist Ryan Guldemond says of the song. “Magical thinking, interconnection, cosmic gallivanting.”
‘I believe in the old unicorn’, the first pre-chorus goes. That animal also made its way to the artwork of the band’s upcoming album Nostalgia. Set to hit the stores on 6 June, it’s Mother Mother’s 10th studio album. “It’s heartfelt and dark, funneling and fractaling themes of alienation, existentialism, self-love and self-hate, gender roles, and spirituality through the vibrant imagery of otherworldly landscapes and mythical creatures”, according to Guldemond.
Together with the album news and its first single, the band announced a string of future live dates. Next July, they’ll play a run of European headline and festival dates.
