The Darcys – Look Me In The Eyes
Only recently, I recommended Foolâs Paradise by Ferraro, which was produced by The Darcys. Now, this Canadian alt-pop duo are back with new music of their own.
Jason Couse and Wes Marskell formed The Darcys in 2007. They took their name from Jane Austinâs novel Pride And Prejudice. Following their most recent, fourth album Centerfold (2016), they released numerous new tracks. Also, during quarantine, they launched a series of âCOVID coversâ, with streaming profits going to charity.
In other words: these two are quite a prolific bunch. They just put out their new single proper, Look Me In The Eyes, the first to be released ahead of the bandâs next long-player. Itâs an upbeat track, which comes with a fun, half-animated video. The clip was partly funded by Canadaâs private radio broadcasters. Smart, for Look Me In The Eyes sounds like a bona fide radio hit to me!

Ferraro – Sugar Rush [2021 Remix]
Whatâs Ferraro? The plural form of Ferrari? âWith which one of our Ferraro will I drive to the supermarket this afternoon?â. Nope. Itâs an aptly named Toronto-based band, comprised of sibling trio Cosmo (guitar), Tally (bass) and Gianni Ferraro (drums). All three of them perform vocal duties as well. Recently signed by a major label, theyâre currently working on a 6-track EP, co-written and produced by alt-pop duo The Darcys.
Originally released in October 2020, they just re-released their single Sugar Rush. A new mix of the track, to be precise. Oddly, the 2021 version has been removed from the bandâs Spotify profile, but it can still be found on the platform via this link. As you can hear, Sugar Rush is an energetic, radio-friendly pop-rock song.

Ferraro – Foolâs Paradise
Ferraro are a Toronto-based pop-rock sibling trio: guitarist Cosmo, bassist Tally and drummer Gianni Ferraro (all three handle vocals). They cite The Beatles, Kings Of Leon, Jack White, Arctic Monkeys, The Kooks and Foster The People as their influences. After starting as a cover band, Ferraro currently produce their own material.
The band just signed a major label deal and will release their upcoming 6-track EP via Warner Music Canada. You Look Good Like That was the EPâs first single, followed by Wish You Were Gay. Just in time for the summer holidays, they put out their new single. Foolâs Paradise is an upbeat, fun track, produced by alt-pop duo The Darcys.
