Therapie Taxi – Eté 90
In the few years they’ve been active, French band Therapie Taxi attracted a large audience. Their single Hit Sale (feat. Roméo Elvis) especially, was a big, eh… hit. In its slipstream their same-titled debut album sold 170.000 pieces in France alone.
Therefore, the announcement of the group disbanding came as quite a surprise last December. Luckily, they recorded a last EP to say goodbye. Also, a final tour is planned for next summer.
Therapie Taxi’s final EP Rupture 2 Merde is out now. It contains seven electronic pop songs, just what their fans were waiting for. Eté 90 is the band’s last single. Enjoy it while it lasts…

Therapie Taxi – Candide Crush
Therapie Taxi are very popular in their native France. They sold 170.000 pieces of their debut album Hit Sale, attracted 250.000 visitors to circa 100 live shows, and achieved 300 million streams and views of their songs.
They’re also a prolific band. They quickly followed their successful debut album with an ‘extended version’, containing 10 extra tracks. But since then, they’ve already started releasing brand-new songs. The single Egotrip, only a few weeks ago, and now their next offering Candide Crush. A song as colourful as the Candy Crush game.

Therapie Taxi – Cri Des Loups
With the video for their latest single Hit Sale (feat. Roméo Elvis) passing the 2 million mark on YouTube and radio only just heating up for the track, Therapie Taxi already release the follow-up.
Cri Des Loups is the second song they release in anticipation of their debut album, which is also called Hit Sale and will be released 2 February. The first single came with a video marked ‘1/3’, this new clip is marked ‘2/3’, so we can probably expect a third track soon.
Therapie Taxi (feat. Roméo Elvis) – Hit Sale
Therapie Taxi is a Parisian trio, consisting of Adé, Raph and Renaud. They only released their first EP earlier this year, but their new single comes just in time to make sure their definitive break-through will take place in the final month of 2017.
Hit Sale not only mixes electronic music with pop melodies, it also features a contribution of famous Belgian rapper Roméo Elvis. It’s a ‘dirty hit’, that’s for sure. Look out for Therapie Taxi’s first album, that will come out on 2 February 2018.
Your ‘All-Time’ Favourites (2017-2022)
The last six years, starting in 2017, I posted 10 musical recommendations per week on this blog. A total of well over 3.000 tracks, mostly by upcoming – often female (fronted) – artists from all over the world. As I explained yesterday, Carte Blanche Music is entering a new era. One in which I’ll focus my efforts on my constantly updated Spotify playlist.
For sure, that doesn’t mean the blog is closing down. It’ll continue to be the home of my ‘best of’ collection (Werner’s Weekly) on Monday mornings (CET) and my favourite new track (the Carte Blanche Music Wildcard), every Wednesday morning. Also, I’ll post the latest additions to my playlist on Saturdays. For updates, follow me on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
No better way to round up the last six years than by publishing the Your ‘All-Time’ Favourites, a chart compiling the 500 most popular (as in best-read) Carte Blanche Music recommendations from 2017 to 2022. You’ll find the Top 25 below, but click through for the full list. My original recommendations are behind the links. If you’re an artist, don’t be shy and search (Ctrl+F) to find out if you made the list. You might be surprised…
Enjoy and thanks for joining the ride so far. Follow the Carte Blanche Music playlist (click ‘♥’ in Spotify) for many more recommendations to come!

Your Favourites (2021)
My container playlist Carte Blanche Music 2021 doesn’t only include all of the 998 songs I recommended last year. It also holds the 100 best tracks in my opinion, the Carte Blanche Music Top 2021, which I published last week. But that’s only my selection. Isn’t it more interesting to see which of my recommendations you read the most? In other words: which of them were Your Favourites in 2021?
Apparently, the Carte Blanche Music blog has a strong archive function. A quarter of the Top 100 below consists of blog posts from earlier years, which you find via search engines. ‘Google is your friend’, as they say… Also, I think it’s wonderful to see young and upcoming artists like Angèle, Aili x Transistorcake, Mina Okabe, Eyjaa and Videoclub having more than one track amongst your favourites. These are acts to keep an extra keen eye on!
Thank you for being such loyal visitors of Carte Blanche Music. Follow me on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram and you won’t miss a single recommendation. You’ll find all of these brand-new songs and more in my daily updated Spotify playlist.
And now, enjoy last year’s greatest chart of all: Your Favourites 2021!

Your favourites (November 2019)
Roi by Videoclub is still ‘king’ in the listing of Your Favourites during the month of November. That’s odd, because the French duo released three other singles already since they put out Roi at the start of the year. You could say: Roi still rules. Big time! Also in your Top 3, Toukassé by Shanguy is another French track that has been popular among Carte Blanche Music visitors for a long time now. And a little bit further down, at #7, Therapie Taxi are the third Top 10 entry from France. Their new single Candide Crush went down very well last month.
The same can be said of Deacon Blue’s former Wildcard City Of Love. A welcome return from the Scottish band, although it can hardly be called a comeback. They have been one of my favourites for over 30 years now, and I’m glad to see them featuring in Your Favourites as well. A total newcomer however, is Australia’s Jaguar Jonze. Kill Me With Your Love is only her third single, but it already ranks among the best read recommendations of November. Let’s keep an eye on her!
Your full Top 10 of favourite blog posts in November is below. You can find them all (and many more) in my 2019 container playlist Carte Blanche Music. My Spotify list now holds circa 950 tracks, good for over 55 hours of great new music, released in 2019. Have a listen and/or follow it through this link.
