Black Kids – In A Song
So far, Jacksonville five-piece Black Kids have not been able to repeat the success of their brilliant single I’m Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How To Dance With You. That track was lifted from their debut album Partie Traumatic, which was produced by former Suede member Bernard Butler, who also worked with Duffy, Texas, The Veils, Kate Nash, James Morrison and many others.
The band, featuring the siblings Reggie Youngblood (lead vocals and guitar) and Ali Youngblood (keyboards and backing vocals), took their time to record the follow-up. Only last February, they released their second album Rookie on Bandcamp. It will not be available elsewhere before 15 September. Four tracks off it are already on Spotify though, including the infectious new single In A Song.
