Blue Rose Code – Bluebell
Schotland produced the most brilliant sophisticated pop groups, especially in the 80’s and 90’s of the last century. The Blue Nile, Deacon Blue, The Big Dish, Aztec Camera, Danny Wilson, Hue & Cry… the list is endless.
Now, Blue Rose Code, a.k.a. acclaimed singer-songwriter Ross Wilson, treads in their footsteps. His new album The Water Of Leith is painted with colours of folk, jazz, soul and pop. Author Ian Rankin is a fan. But if you don’t take his (or my) word for it, please listen to Scottisch independent magazine The Skinny, who have just named it Scottish Album Of The Year. And if you’re still in doubt, then hear for yourself. The single Bluebell is great!
