European Border Breakers Chart 11 August 2017
Among a total of 12 (re)entries, 4 songs manage to hit the European Border Breakers Chart for the first time this week. More Mess crashes the top 10 without a warning and enters at #8. Itβs the new single of French DJ Valentin Brunel, a.k.a. Kungs, featuring British singer-songwriter Olly Murs and Belgian rapper Coely. A real pan European hit in more ways than one. Kungs (pictured) is already responsible for two tracks in the Top 10 of the All-time EBBChart.
Way lower, but still at a respectable #59, River Matthewsβs Sunshine breaks through, bases on airplay in the Netherlands alone. A promising start!
Swedish singer-songwriter Sandro Cavazza, a regular collaborator with Avicii and the featured vocalist on the Lost Frequencies hit Beautiful Life, comes in at #96 this week with his own song So Much Better.
Closing the chart, at #100, Goat Girl makes inroads for the first time with their 2016 debut single Country Sleaze. Goat Girl has been described by The Guardian as βthe band rebuilding Londonβs indie sceneβ and indeed: their guitars hit like hammers!
