Grouplove – MRI / Adios Amigos
Last year, Grouplove released their album Big Mess. Apparently, there was some rest material left from the recording sessions, enabling the band to release the EP Little Mess for this year’s edition of Record Store Day.
The EP is also available digitally. It features five tracks, the first of which – Tell Me A Story – is mostly presented as the single. But I think there are two other tracks on the EP that are even better:
MRI, that singer Hannah Hooper says about: “Sometimes we have experiences where it feels like it’s the end of the world. This song is about talking yourself down from that space.”
…and Adios Amigos, which appears to be based on the famous Is She Really Going Out With Him? bassline and has a rather psychedelic ending.
