Hedda Mae – Madness
It seems as if musical talent is part of the Norwegian DNA. 21-year-old Hedda Mae (Hedda Aalvik Grønhaug) is yet another potential future pop star. Her new single was co-written and produced by Benjamin Giørtz (Tiësto, Betty Who), who did a great job as well.
Madness is an upbeat and fun pop song with a nu-disco flavour in the best Jamiroquai tradition. Full of ‘80s influences, it’s a slick and smart tune, extremely catchy and sure to make you feel good.
Hedda Mae explains: “The lyrics are about when someone suddenly becomes interested in you and gets really friendly, and you question yourself about where they’re really coming from. Because other people’s intentions often aren’t good, and you know you shouldn’t get involved really, but it can be difficult to keep yourself away.”
Her debut EP comes out on 16 October.
