Hoshi – Je Vous Trouve Un Charme Fou
Only 21 years old, French singer Hoshi is a girl who knows what she wants. At 14, under a falling star, Mathilde – her real name – wished she would make it in music. Subsequently, she adopted the stage name Hoshi, Japanese for ‘star’.
Two years later, she started the rock band TransyStory, and wrote her first songs, inspired by Jacques Brel, Noir Désir, Serge Gainsbourg, and Patti Smith. One of those songs, that she posted on the internet, landed her an invitation to join television talent show ‘The Voice’. She got to the finals, but abandoned the show after being asked to sing a song that was not her cup of tea. After the press jumped upon this story, her name was made.
Last year, Hoshi released her first EP Comment Je Vais Faire and the great single Ta Marinière, preceding her debut album Il Suffit D’y Croire (out on 23 March). Je Vous Trouve Un Charme Fou is the second single off it, and a very promising one.
