American singer-songwriter Julian Velard is world famous throughout the Netherlands, thanks to his song Joni, that received a considerable amount of airplay. The born and raised New Yorker is liked among tastemakers and music lovers alike, but deserves a larger audience. So, here is the good news: he is about to make the next step in the right direction.

16 June, Julian Velard releases his fifth studio album Fancy Words For Failure. A lot has happened in the singer’s life recently (he got married last year and became a father only last week), resulting in very personal lyrics.

19 May will see the birth of the album’s first single Sweatpants On The Living Room Floor (which is currently under consideration for a last-minute name change to Diapers On The Living Room Floor), but you can hear it here already…
