Kasabian – Ill Ray (The King)
Today, Kasabian released their new album For Crying Out Loud, featuring first single You’re In Love With A Psycho and former Wildcard Comeback Kid. All 12 tracks were written in six weeks’ time, with this old school attitude of song-writing: ‘if you’ve not got them in the first four bars then you’re finished’.
For Crying Out Loud saves some of the electronic influences that marked its predecessor, but Kasabian describe it as ‘a truly great guitar album’. Singer/guitarist/songwriter Serge Pizzorno says about that: “There was an ambition to save guitar music from wherever the hell it’s going. (…) We wanted to make a very positive album full of hope with guitars to remind people that it’s still relevant.”
No surprise then, that one of the highlights to me is this great rock track:
