Kingsbury – Alone Again
At 13, Caroline Kingsbury began discovering indie bands on the internet and posting covers of her favourite songs on YouTube. To her own surprise, she gained attention from other local Florida musicians. This inspired her to start writing her own songs.
After moving to Nashville to attend university, she began recruiting other musicians to create full-band renditions of her high school bedroom songs. Inspired by rock and electronic-driven pop artists such as Bombay Bicycle Club, Feist and The 1975, she started her own band: Kingsbury.
Now based in Los Angeles, Kingsbury has released two singles, Easy and Emeralds, which landed her a spot at SXSW this year. Since three is the magic number, letβs prepare for her break-through. Kingsbury says about her third single: βAlone Again is about regaining control over a part of your life you didn’t realize was compromised. I found out that pleasing the people around me was an innate part of my character, and that I had to actively fight that to be able to pursue the life I wanted.β
