I’ve been a fan of Spanish band La Oreja De Van Gogh (‘Van Gogh’s ear’) ever since their 1998 debut album Dile Al Sol. I’ve described before how that came to be. The band even sparked a flame in me for Spanish pop/rock music in general. I know, it’s not for everyone. For starters because for most of us it’s not too easy to sing along to. But musically, and especially production-wise, the Spanish scene is on top of it’s game.

La Oreja De Van Gogh sold over 8 million albums worldwide, but mostly in the Spanish speaking world, obviously. Ready to add to that number, the band just finished their tenth studio album. Un Susurro En La Tormenta (‘a whisper in the storm’) will be released on 18 September. Te Pareces Tanto A Mí (‘you resemble me so much’) is the second single off it. A driving, up-tempo track, with a prominent role for the electric guitar, which had been missing from the band’s songs for too long. A great return to form!
