Laini & The Wildfire – Wandering
American singer-songwriter Laini Marenick started writing songs at 12 and planned to study music. However, she ended up with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in social work. She landed a position at the Parent Child Resource Center, but music kept lingering in the back of her head.
With her husband Mark Marenick, and drummer Rob Siraco, who performed together in the band Tragically Said, she formed a new trio: Laini & The Wildfire. They play anthemic, piano-centered pop songs. The absence of a guitar is quite refreshing. If you like Florence & The Machine or Fiona Apple, here are your new heroes.
In May 2016, the band released a self-titled EP. This past August, Laini decided to quit her job and fully concentrate on music. The trio’s first full-length album Wandering came out last month. The title track (and first single) is about the singer leaving her job.
In interviews, the band indicated they want to put out as much new music as possible. I canβt wait for more!
