Lølø – Junkie
Born and raised in Toronto, Canadian singer-songwriter Lauren Mandel goes by the stage name of Lølø. She gained popularity both online and offline, reimagining big pop hits on TikTok, releasing her own singles on Spotify and playing captivating gigs on stage. Her relatable songs, written about her love life as a form of therapy, landed her a lot of fans. 2021 was a big year for Lølø, signing both a publishing contract and a record deal. She also put out her first EP Overkill.
Following Debbie Downer (feat. Maggie Lindemann), Junkie is her second single of the year. It’s an Avril Lavigne-like punk-rock song, which combines witty lyrics with infectiously catchy production.
