Marianas Trench – Rhythm Of Your Heart
Marianas Trench is the deepest part of the world’s oceans. It is located between Japan and Papua New Guinea and has a maximum known depth of 11 kilometres. But more interesting from this blog’s point of view, Marianas Trench is also a Canadian rockband.
They just released a new single that is dripping with 80’s influences. Just hear how it kicks off with Phil Collins-like big drums (like the ones that graced Frida’s I Know Ther’s Something Going On in 1982)! Power chords, ‘oh-oh’s, they’re all present, just like prominent synth patterns throughout. Even the title is as eighties as they come.
