Moon Taxi – Two High
Of course, Nashville is one of the musical epicentres of the United States, but it’s not all about country. Hot Chelle Rae, Kings Of Leon and The Raconteurs are also from Nashville, for instance. As well as Moon Taxi.
Starting off as an indie rock band, in recent years – via tracks like The New Black and Year Zero – they gradually developed into a pop act. New single Two High is a further step in that direction. Sonically and instrument-wise the song evolves from the guitar part of Lost Frequencies’ Are You With Me to the horn arrangements of Saint Motel’s My Type. Lyrically, the band says it’s “a song about hope. Hope for understanding, hope for acceptance, and hope for our future.”
