I’ve had a weak spot for Nicole Atkins ever since her debut album Neptune City from 10 years ago. Songs like The Way It Is (that must have been an inspiration for Lana Del Rey) and Maybe Tonight struck me immediately and still stop me in my tracks when they come shuffling by on my Carte Blanche Classics playlist (radio never really caught up on her, alas).
