Nothing Really – Yuck
Nothing Really are a young and promising indie-rock band from Melbourne. It consists of Victoria Austin (guitar/vocals), Riley Brightwell (bass), Luke Petherick (guitar/backing vocals) and Chris Pratt (drums). Austin unpacks the complexity of the relationships we share, gently wrestling with the discomfort of what it means to be flawed and fallible.
The quartet’s first three singles were met with airtime on Aussie radio station Triple J, alongside high praise from the crew. With their fourth single Yuck, it’s time for them to spread their wings outside their home country. In this song, Austin explores the emotional purgatory we can occupy when we give too much of ourselves away. It describes the surrender to a state of limbo, and the quick degradation of self-worth.
For reference purposes: if you’re into bands like Soccer Mommy, you should definitely try Nothing Really!
