Paid By Cash – Sirens In The Sea
Ollie Carter (vocals/guitar), Harry Bolton (guitar), Jimmi Brown (bass) and Sam Green (drums) cite modern post-punk, shoegaze and bands like Sonic Youth, Radiohead and Joy Division as their main influences. At the beginning of 2021, they started writing their own songs. Four of their demos were compiled on the Sounds From The Cellar EP. Having found their sound, they recorded a 6-track EP at the end of the year, which will be released later in 2022.
Sirens In The Sea is Paid By Cashβs first proper single. The band state itβs about βthe current social climate and how certain sides of the debate are pushed via the media, lying to the masses and essentially putting out propagandaβ. Itβs a rousing track with a Red Hot Chili Peppers kind of vibe, that builds into a big ending.
