Paramore – Rose-Colored Boy
Paramoreβs recent singles Hard Times and Told You So already signaled a departure from their signature rock sound, in favour of a more synth-heavy musical backdrop. Their new album After Laughter proves this wasnβt a temporary move, but itβs serious. Serious business, I might add, because this change in direction enables Paramore to branch out to other, larger audiences. Early fans may not be too amused, but the band may very well have the last laugh.
One of the albumβs highlights, Grudges, finds Paramore somewhere halfway their old and new sound, as does Idle Worship, but my favourite track, Rose-Colored Boy, is flat out, no holds barred pop. We want (Para)more!
