Penguin Prison is the one-man band of New York singer, musician, producer and remixer Chris Glover. He grew up listening to his mother’s collection of country records, sang in his school’s gospel choir (alongside later r&b superstar Alicia Keys), formed punk band The Museum and made plenty of remixes for other artists, but he had his first success as a musician when he formed Penguin Prison in 2008.

His new single, Turn It Up, features funky, guitar-driven rhythms to a full-on electro pop backdrop. Lyrically, it’s meant as an encouragement to take action amongst these backwards times we’re currently living in. It’s the first track off Penguin Prison’s forthcoming EP, set for release early 2018.
