Ren – New Way
Ren is 17-year-old Canadian singer-songwriter Lauren Isenberg. Three years ago, she debuted with Hopeless Town under her own name. After signing to Geffen Records, she released her major label debut Waves in early 2019.
New Way is only her fourth single. Itβs a slow-jam pop track with a bluesy rock guitar backbeat. The song describes how the singer isnβt used to being treated well and sheβs not sure if she even wants a drama-free relationship.Β A topic which, Ren says, is relatable for a lot of people her age. “Itβs a love song with the message of being completely vulnerable to the highs, and always expecting lows, but not getting what you expect and questioning your overwhelming happiness.”
New Way will appear on Renβs upcoming debut EP Teenage Angst, which is scheduled for release on 13 March.
