Ride – All I Want
Iβm really happy Ride decided to go back into the studio. The band, one of the most important shoegaze acts at the end of the eighties and the start of the nineties of the last century, will release their first new album in over twenty years next summer. Weather Diaries comes out 16 June. I already recommended the first two singles off it, Charm Assault and Home Is A Feeling, earlier.
More and more, it becomes clear Ride isnβt only back on the block, but theyβre better than ever. Just listen to this third album teaser. All I Want starts off with some voice sampling just like Two Door Cinema Clubβs I Can Talk did. This is followed by a classic collaboration of a pounding bass and pneumatic drumming, underpinned by everlasting guitar notes. On top of that, Mark Gardener lays down some of his most catchy vocals (even though the song is said to be an anti-Theresa May track).
In an ideal world, this would be a hit. At least, it deserves to be!
