Wildcard (week 9):
San Fermin – No Promises
This band is named after the Spanish saint of the same name. The festival of San Fermin – best known for the bulls running through the streets of the Spanish village of Pamplona – is staged every year in honour of this saint.
San Fermin – the band – is a project of singer-songwriter Ellis Ludwig-Leone from Brooklyn, New York. When playing live, he extends the band to an eight-piece ensemble.
7 April their third album Belong will see the light of day, and itβs now preceded by this great single, No Promises. It echoes the melody of Lykke Liβs I Follow Rivers, which was a brilliant pop song as well.
The coming week San Ferminβs No Promises will feature prominently in the top corner of Carte Blanche Music as our Wildcard!
