Shed Seven – People Will Talk
Formed in 1990, Shed Seven was part of the Britpop scene of the 1990’s. However, they had their finest moments in the second half of that century, just after the peak of the Britpop hype. Well-known hits include Speakeasy, Getting Better, Going For Gold and She Left Me On Friday. The band officially broke up in 2003, but reformed for a greatest hits tour in 2007.
Although Shed Seven continued to play shows around Britain, they only released a new studio album late in 2017. It contains exactly what the title promises: Instant Pleasures. People Will Talk is one of the final tracks on the album, saving the best for last. It’s a great, sunny pop tune, that’s already on BBC Radio 2’s playlist. You’ll probably hate me for it, but I can’t help but hear The Nolans’ I’m In The Mood For Dancing in it. On the other hand, wasn’t that a gem as well?
