Just over a year ago, I raved about Sophie & The Giants’ second single Bulldog. A great way to start a career, but it was Waste My Air that provided them with their breakthrough. After over 5,5 million Spotify clicks on that song alone, the band are back to add a next chapter.

Gradually transforming from a pop/rock band into a pure pop outfit, Runaway is very radio-ready. One can only hope radio proves ready for Runaway as well. Sophie & The Giants have been picked up by major label Universal Music last year, now it’s up to them to prove they’re worth their salt.

Front woman Sophie Scott says about the song: “Runaway ultimately celebrates how I found the strength to let go in order to thrive on my own and the liberation that I still feel from parting with things that are not good for me”
