Spoon – I Ain’t The One
Britt Daniel (from Austin, Texas) is a neglected genius. With his band Spoon he has been making music since 1996, but it has only broken out of the US in recent years. Australia and Canada were the first territories to embrace their music, slowly followed by the Benelux countries. And now, with their ninth album Hot Thoughts, other European countries have jumped on board as well. Rightfully so, for Spoon are great.
Like their previous long player, Hot Thoughts was co-produced by Dave Fridmann. He is famous for his work with The Flaming Lips, Weezer, Ed Harcourt, Neil Finn, The Cribs, OK Go and many others. Despite its title, I Ain’t The One is an obvious highlight on the album. Even better: it’s Spoon’s new single!
