Spoken word songs are intriguing!

I’m Alive is based upon a poem written and performed by @soaksoaksoak (Irish singer-songwriter Bridie Monds-Watson), with gentle and gripping backing instrumentals provided by Gemma Doherty (of alt-pop duo @Saint_Sister_)

In my opinion, @BLACKHONEYUK's new single Beaches is their finest moment. Its hand clap beat gives it a distinct glam rock feeling. Elsewhere, bursts of horns further fuel the already powerful chorus. Three minutes of sun-kissed seaside fun!

German band @leonidenmusik's new single L.O.V.E. is an energetic song with a stadium-sized chorus, playful Wurlitzer, driving bass line and subtle string and brass sections.

I wouldn’t know why Leoniden’s success should be limited to their home country!

Produced by @dmuckala, with additional production by @AnnieLennox, Back At Wrong by @lola_lennox features an infectious, pounding beat from the start.

Along the way, adding a playful piano and a surprise organ, the song builds into a mighty soundscape.

11 September, @deltaspirit will release their fifth long-player, produced by the band and mixed by @tchad_blake.

New single It Ain’t Easy features a simple but prominent piano part, acoustic guitars and a sturdy rhythm section. It grows with every spin!

. @AlteredByMom release a song a week this year. Walking With The Enemy starts with an ‘80s, Neue Deutsche Welle kind of synth, before the drum kicks in. A catchy tune that deserves to be a hit.

It's this week’s Carte Blanche Music Wildcard! Hear it here:

. @Badflower’s new single is called 30, and that’s for a reason. Frontman Josh Katz turned 30 and he’s written a song about it. Obviously, he’s not the ‘happy 30’ type of guy. A bold new track, with a deliberate guitar riff.

Dribble by 18-year-old @syccoworld (which is pronounced as ‘psycho’) is an irresistible, easy-going pop tune with an electronic arrangement at its core.

It also flirts with neo-soul, while Sycco’s smooth vocals flow on top of the beat. A huge talent!
