La Pegatina feat. Youthstar – Where Do We Go?
The last few years, Spanish band La Pegatina recorded and released a large number of collaborations with other bands. Most of those acts were Spanish, but on Down For Love, for instance, they partnered with popular Dutch band Chef’Special. And Nothing But A Lie featured German group Querbeat.
On their new single Where Do We Go?, La Pegatina team up with Youthstar. He was born in Great-Britain, but relocated to France at the age of 16. Currently, Youthstar is the rapper/MC of Chinese Man. With choruses in English, verses in Spanish and a catchy rap, Where Do We Go? can have a broad appeal. Its Tubthumping kind of vibe will hook you upon first listen.
This single will be part of La Pegatina’s new album Hacia Otra Parte, which will be out this Spring. An international record, containing many of the collaborations that have already been released.

Who Parked The Car – Rock Climbing
One of the musical revelations of the end of last year was Who Parked The Car. These eight schooled musicians from Paris only formed their band late in 2020. In merely six months’ time, they wrote and recorded their debut album Mad Weather, Good Friends. Set for release in April, it’s a collection of songs that blend pop, jazz and funk music.
Following their energetic, funk/nu-disco debut single Candle Dance and its laid-back, jazzy follow-up Other Side, they just put our their third track. Rock Climbing is another groovy track, with various faces. Basically a jazz tune, it contains parts with a reggaeton kind of vibe. Lyrically, it’s a song about love and addiction.

The Allergies – Move On Baby
The Allergies release music all year round, but it simply sounds best in the summer. The new single from Bristol’s heavyweight DJ’s Rackabeat and Moneyshot is no exception. And to make things even better, it has a good old ‘double A-side’. On the flip, you’ll find Are You Ready, which features unofficial third member Andy Cooper‘s razor-sharp rhymes, and soul singer Marietta Smith. You can discover it via the link above.
Move On Baby however, is the single’s title track. This is what sonic sunshine sounds like. It’s full of samples, as you’d expect from The Allergies, but with a tropical feel. This is one hell of a cocktail, with ingredients as infectious as latin brass, hard-hitting but funky drums, vintage rhythm ’n’ blues vocals, whistles, and overall feel-good dancefloor vibes. Think Buena Vista Social Club on steroids.
Both tracks will also feature on the party starters’ upcoming album Promised Land.

Efecto Pasillo feat. Huecco – Funketón [2020 Version]
Efecto Pasillo is a popular Spanish band, formed in 2007 on the Canary Island of Gran Canaria. Three years later (now 10 years ago), their first, self-titled album came out. The band have dedicated the whole of 2020 to the celebration of this milestone.
So far, Efecto Pasillo released four albums. Throughout this year, they’ve been releasing new versions of tracks off these albums, each with a guest artist. In the end, they’ll have released ten updated versions, and meanwhile, they’re working on three brand-new songs.
After collaborations with acts like Despistaos, David Otero and Georgina, the seventh jubilee single features Huecco. He is the creator of the rumbatón genre, which mixes rumba flamenco with reggaetón. To make things more complicated, Huecco collaborates with Efecto Pasillo on a reprise of their 2013 track Funketón. This results in an extremely catchy cocktail of funk and rumbatón.
I dare you to try and sit still to this one!

The Allergies (feat. The Cuban Brothers) – Let Them Know
It may be summer for months in large parts of Europe, but meteorologically, it has only just begun. Right on time, The Allergies release their sunny new single Let Them Know.
Bristol’s finest serve up a hotbed of big hip-hop drums, huge funky horns, and dynamite boogaloo rhythms. This provides the perfect backdrop for the vocals of party starters The Cuban Brothers. Boosted by a massively catchy chorus, the track creates a full-on carnival atmosphere.
Let Them Know is the latest single to be released ahead of The Allergies’ upcoming album Say The Word. Let’s get this party started!
