Rondé – Running Away
Dutch band Rondé started the ‘20s with a string of 5 Top 10 hits. Now, 14 years after their debut single Run, they come full circle with their new track Running Away. An ode to true romance, it sounds like a huge future radio hit, which deserves to land in the Top 10 once again. Even if it doesn’t, it’s still a great upbeat feelgood tune!
There’s no escaping Running Away by Rondé, for it’s the new Carte Blanche Music Wildcard. It will be prominently displayed at the top of the blog for an entire week.

Being dropped by her major record label must have been the best that ever happened to Raye. The talent and the songs were already there, but this gave her even more drive to succeed. And boy, did she succeed! Already a live favourite, Joy. (featuring her sisters on vocals) is her swinging new single. Reassuring in many ways!

Co-written by 4 Non Blondes’ Linda Perry, Happiest Day Of My Life has a dynamic alternative rock sound with a distinct ‘90s vibe. Think The Cure meets The Smashing Pumpkins. It’s the title track off her second album, which proves the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Slothrust – Dystopian Cemetery
LA-based alt-rock veterans Slothrust will release their new album What They Grow In The Garden on 18 September. Ahead of it, they put out two songs at once: Dystopian Cemetery and Twisted Paradise. The first shows the band’s catchiest side. Examining queer romance, it features noted producer/keyboardist Willy Beaman on piano.

Currently based in Los Angeles, Francesca Blanchard is a singer-songwriter from the South of France. Blending complex emotional subtleties with catchy hooks, her new single Quit Music deals with the loving feeling every partner of an unsuccessful musician will recognise. Utterly beautiful.
