The Academic – Anything Could Happen
The Academic’s upcoming EP was produced by former Kaiser Chiefs drummer and songwriter Nick Hodgson. Ahead of its release, the Irish quartet present their new single Anything Could Happen. As blissful as it’s cheerful, it’s a real feel-good song, made to sing along to.
For you older music lovers out there, there’s a lot to like as well. The Academic don’t exactly hide their influences. The guitar part in Anything Could Happen has been borrowed from Gary Numan’s 1979 hit Cars, and it also contains the ‘ooh-ooh’ from The Rolling Stones’ Sympathy For The Devil. Nothing to be ashamed of, I’d say.
