The Dears – The Worst In Us
Not one of the youngest bands on this blog, The Dears have their roots in 1995. But hey, age ain’t nothing but a number, and here, it’s the music that counts. The Montreal, Canada-based band is led by the husband-wife duo of singer-guitarist Murray Lightburn and keyboardist Natalia Yanchak. They just announced the release of their eighth album Lovers Rock, out on 15 May.
As part of the announcement, the band dropped their new single The Worst In Us. An upbeat track about coming together in love, that starts off with a raucous electric guitar and powerful piano. Further on in the song, over rollicking drums, the piano returns, sounding like the one in Our House by Madness. How could this not be a great song?
