The Magic Gang – How Can I Compete
The Magic Gang are four kids from the south of England. They all live together in a house in Brighton now and make music all day, like The Monkees did. They claim to make βlaser guided guitar pop songs that sound like the point that Steely Dan intersects with Weezerβ.
Listen to their new single with that reference in mind, and indeed youβll hear a somewhat lighter, more sophisticated, but ever as catchy version of Weezer. How Can I Compete is on The Magic Gang’s third EP (cleverly entitled EP Three), that was released today. They work on a debut album to be released this year.
