The New Schematics – Who Do You Think You Are?
The 1975 may not (yet) be one of the biggest bands on the planet, but the way they translated the 1980’s sound to the 2010’s, including funky guitars and slick production, has been an inspiration for many contemporary bands. The New Schematics are one of them.
Although the name The New Schematics may not ring a bell if you’re not from Nashville, they aren’t new kids on the block. After spending their first two years on the road, they earned themselves a great reputation as a live act. Centering around Cory Bishop and Michael Bare, the duo has a rotating cast of musicians on the road with them, to bring their indie pop songs from the studio to the stage.
All of this live experience has now been channelled back into the band’s new single. Who Do You Think You Are? isn’t only an ace pop track. It comes with a lyric video that is based around a concept that is as simple as it’s smart. A great package, altogether.
