You know what a chameleon is, right? The animal that can change his appearance, I mean. Some bands change musical styles like chameleons change colours. Like Arcade Fire, recently. Pretty unexpectedly, I must say. Just as unexpectedly – and unrecognisably – The Waterboys re-appear to the scene.

The Scottish band, known for all-time favourites like The Whole Of The Moon, A Girl Called Johnny, A Man Is In Love and The Return Of Pan, has shaken off its folk roots and returns with… a pop song.

As you’ve come to expect from The Waterboys, it’s a decent (pop) song. One can only hope it doesn’t ‘disappear’ against the background of the current pop music climate…
