Tia Gostelow – Psycho
20-year-old Aussie singer-songwriter Tia Gostelow has been making music for over 10 years. Around the age of 12, she started playing in pubs and bars every weekend doing covers. At 16, she recorded her first single State Of Art, which was picked up by alternative radio station Triple J. Sheโs have been recording her own music and touring ever since.
Like her recent single Rush, her latest offering Psycho shows a new musical direction. Itโs slick indie pop at its best, with driving basslines, a rocky edge and an overall โ80s synth-pop vibe. Building to a pulsing crescendo, itโs a festival-ready alt-pop banger. The catchy tune has a serious message however. It narrates frustration with โgaslightingโ in relationships. Feeling she has been painted as the villain, Gostelow becomes aware of the emotional abuse and won’t take it anymore.
Both Rush and Psycho are set to appear on Tia Gostelowโs sophomore record, which will arrive later this year.
