Wildcard (week 41):
noelle – Cold Killer
Noelle Otsihsera Maracle is an upcoming singer-songwriter from Ontario, Canada. She was raised on the indigenous reserve in the Tyendinage Mohawk territory, where she grew up surrounded by music. After discovering the power of her voice at a young age, she started posting cover songs from her bedroom. Her YouTube channel soon counted 90.000 subscribers, which eventually landed her a record deal.
Following this year’s debut EP of original material, Cold Killer is noelle’s second new song of the year. It’s a high-energy track that echoes Kim Wilde. Musically, the ‘80s-inspired single is based on a frantic beat, backing synths and bass. Lyrically, it holds a message of female empowerment for everyone who has fallen for a player. In other words: an edgy heartbreak anthem.
Cold Killer by noelle is the new Carte Blanche Music Wildcard. That means it’ll feature prominently at the top of the blog for a whole week.

Love it! Heard this song on CBC (Canada) Radio today when I was driving and I just had to find it again. Thanks for putting on your list.
My pleasure, glad you found it again!
