At Carte Blanche Music, we’re big fans of Maddy Jane. Here’s why: she’s not the most prolific of artists, but thankfully, she chooses quality over quantity. Late last year, she put out It Can’t Be Heartbreak If It’s Not Love, her first track in two and a half years’ time. I’m glad she didn’t wait so long to release a follow-up.

A Woman Is A Woman is Maddy’s new single and it’s got ‘Stevie Nicks’ written all over it. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that she’s a fan though, since she already made a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s Dreams in 2020. As the title suggests, A Woman Is A Woman promotes female empowerment. Queer empowerment, to be precise. Based on Maddy’s own recent experiences, the track encourages the power and strength in being unapologetically yourself.

A Woman Is A Woman by Maddy Jane is the new Carte Blanche Music Wildcard. It will be prominently displayed at the top of the blog for an entire week.
